While working on finalizing disbursements for a mortgage refinance file today, I took a careful look at a credit card statement (one we were paying in full and closing). Noticed a $86.28/month charge for account balance protection.
As it turns out, my client has been off work for nearly 18 months on disability due to an injury suffered at work. He wasn't even aware he had the coverage!
Long story short, we are helping him fill out the paperwork, and expect him to receive nearly $2500 back for payments that should have been covered by the insurance. A nice win for a terrific client.
